Seawright leads Rams to victory, URI improves to (6-2)

BOSTON, MA – Kahiem Seawright had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead a balanced attack as Rhode Island defeated Northeastern, 85-72, on Wednesday.
Keith Cothran added 17 points, Jimmy Baron had 13 and three other players — Marquis Jones, Lamonte Ulmer and Delroy James — had nine apiece for the Rams.
Rhode Island (6-2) took command with a 16-0 run over the first 4:44 of the second half that turned a three-point halftime deficit into a 55-42 lead.
Northeastern (3-4) wouldn’t get closer than 10 points the rest of the way. The Rams led by as many as 19 points, the last time coming at 73-54.
Rhode Island shot 64 percent from the field while Northeastern could only muster 41 percent.
Vinny Lima led the Huskies with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Manny Adako added 11 points and 5 rebounds, while Nkem Ojougboh added 10 points and 4 rebounds.
