CSTV/CBS, also streamlined through the web on several links. Monday night UMass vs Memphis on ESPN. Tough loss last night I was really looking forward to a UMass/Duke game. UMass needs to pull of this upset!

Ya, I was kind of hoping, looking at the box score, that it was one of those games where “it wasn’t as close as the score indicates”. But if being a UMass fan has taught me anything, it is to expect the Minutemen to play down to their competition.

Ricky Harris is a stud and will be the leading scorer for probably 80% of the games this year, with Gurley challenging him. Chris Lowe is an absolute floor general and is one of the toughest players to guard in the conference.

I am praying UMass beats SIU tonight because a chance to play Duke @ MSG would be yet another great game for our OOC schedule.

One question: how are you watching UMass games? I’d love to get to watch most of their games but clearly they aren’t at the level to grace national television on a regular basis…. yet!

Ricky Harris finished strong an impressive 5-9 from 3pt range. Chris Lowe had one of his best games as a Minutemen very encouraging performance.

Coming into the game, I was a bit worried about the team after that mediocre performance vs DivII Dowling. This game was a lot closer than the score indicates but a win is a win. UMass will need a “team effort” to get by Southern Illinios. We need Gurley, Lynch, and Gibbs to really step it up tonight. I’d love to see a UMass / Duke matchup @ MSG.

Wish I could have watched this game, but it’s encouraging to see us beat down a team we should have, even though we were trailing late in the first half. Huge games by Ricky Harris, Chris Lowe and Tony Gaffney and I don’t think that will change all season. Gurley had a decent showing, but it showed me that he didn’t go out and try to dominate the ball against inferior competition (something Forbes would have done). Hopefully we can defeat Southern Illinois tonight and head to MSG!
