    PHILADELPHIA, PA – Ahmad Nivins had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Darrin Govens scored 14 and Saint Joseph’s dealt George Washington its 11th consecutive loss, 66-58 on Wednesday night.

    Tasheed Carr added 14 points and seven assists, and Idris Hilliard had 12 points for the Hawks (13-8, 6-1 Atlantic-10), who have won eight of nine.

    Rob Diggs scored 18 points and Damian Hollis 14 for the Colonials (6-13, 0-7), who have dropped 11 straight for the first time since the 1988-89 season, when they started 0-14.

    George Washington, the only winless team in the conference, hasn’t won since Dec. 23, a 59-47 victory at Sacramento State.

    Saint Joseph’s led 33-29 at halftime and extended its advantage to 53-38 on a dunk by Carr with 9:52 remaining.

    Hollis made a layup with 2:58 left that got the Colonials within seven at 59-52.

    Govens responded with a 15-foot fadeaway jumper and Nivins hit a pair of free throws to push the lead back to 11 with 1:53 remaining.

    The Hawks shot 24-for-31 from the line, with Nivins leading the way, shooting 10-for-11.

    PHILADELPHIA, PA — Yves Mekongo Mbala scored 22 of his career-high 26 points in the first half, Rodney Green had 20 points and eight assists, and La Salle won its third straight game, 76-66 over George Washington on Wednesday night.

    Ruben Guillandeaux scored 14 points, Paul Johnson had 13 and Vernon Goodridge grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds for the Explorers (12-7, 3-2 Atlantic 10).

    Mbala’s 22 points at halftime is the most by a La Salle player since Steve Smith scored 23 in the first half of an 84-63 loss at Cincinnati on Dec. 22, 2004. Smith finished that game with 35 points.

    Noel Wilmore scored 16 points, Rob Diggs 11 and Travis King 10 for the Colonials (6-12, 0-6), who lost their 10th in a row. George Washington hasn’t won since Dec. 23, a 59-47 victory at Sacramento State.

    George Washington also matched its longest losing streak since the 2001-02 season and remains the only team without a victory in the 14-team conference.

    La Salle trailed 58-57 after a 3-pointer by Wilmore with 5:57 remaining. But the Explorers went on a 7-0 run — 3-pointers by Guillandeaux and Green and a free throw by Goodridge — to take a 64-58 lead with 3:34 left.

    George Washington never got closer than four points the rest of the way.

    WASHINGTON, D.C. — Jimmy Baron and Lamonte Ulmer scored 18 points apiece, and Rhode Island hit six consecutive free throws in the final 38 seconds to outlast George Washington 94-89 in double overtime on Sunday.

    Delroy James scored seven of his 16 points in the second overtime, including a floater with 1:01 remaining to give the Rams (13-7, 2-3 Atlantic 10 Conference) the lead for good at 88-86.

    Marquis Jones hit two free throws to put the Rams up by four in the final frame, but the Colonials’ (6-11, 0-5) Noel Wilmore was fouled shooting a 3-pointer. He converted his shots to trim the lead to 90-89 with 30.8 seconds remaining.

    But Jones hit two more from the line, and Ulmer added two foul shots to seal the win with 9 seconds left after blocking Wilmore’s late 3-point attempt.

    Wilmore and Rob Diggs scored 20 apiece to lead the Colonials.

    WASHINGTON, DC – Chris Wright made three free throws — the first two after a technical foul on George Washington for having six players on the court — as Dayton escaped with a 63-61 victory on Thursday night.

    The Colonials were assessed the technical when the Flyers (17-2, 3-1 Atlantic 10 Conference) attempted to inbound the ball at their own end with 21.9 seconds left.

    Wright made both free throws for a 62-61 lead. He was fouled again when Dayton inbounded and made the first of two free throws with 21.3 seconds left.

    Tony Taylor missed a 3-point attempt with 2.5 seconds left and Rob Diggs’ putback rimmed out as the horn sounded.

    Marcus Johnson had 17 points to lead Dayton, which has won three straight and nine of its last 10.

    Wynton Witherspoon had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead George Washington (6-10, 0-4), which lost its eighth straight.

    ST. LOUIS, MO – Kevin Lisch scores 18 points to help Saint Louis to a 63-59 victory over slumping George Washington Saturday night in Atlantic 10 play.

    Tommie Liddell III added 14 for the Billikens (11-6, 2-1), who have won nine straight at home.

    Wynton Witherspoon led the Colonials (6-9, 0-3) with 15 points and seven rebounds. The loss was the seventh straight for George Washington.

    Saint Louis trailed most of the way before making an 8-2 run midway through the second half. Brian Conklin scored seven points during the run, giving the Billikens their first lead since it was 4-2. The last of the points was when he put back a missed free throw to make if 46-44 Saint Louis with 9:08 left.

    St. Louis led by 7 but George Washington cut it to 1 point when Witherspoon hit a floater with 40.2 seconds left.

    Barry Eberhardt clinched it when he made a basket and a foul shot with 5 seconds left.

    PITTSBURGH, PA – Freshman Melquan Bolding scored a career-high 26 points, Bill Clark and Aaron Jackson had 14 points, and Duquesne rallied to beat George Washington 88-83 on Wednesday night for its seventh straight victory.

    Eric Evans scored 13 points and Damian Saunders added 11 for Duquesne (12-4), which is 3-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference for the first time in the school’s history.

    Duquesne, which trailed by 13 points in the first half, went ahead 80-77 on a 3-pointer by Saunders with 2:49 remaining. The Dukes had 13 3-pointers, including four from Bolding.

    Rob Diggs had 25 points for George Washington (6-8, 0-2), which lost its sixth straight.

    Reserve Noel Wilmore added 14 points for the Colonials, who shot 64 percent from the field and made eight of 10 3-pointers.

    WASHINGTON, D.C. — Justin Harper scored 14 of his 19 points in the first half to lead Richmond to a 60-48 victory over George Washington on Saturday night.

    David Gonzalvez added 13 points for the Spiders (9-6, 1-0 Atlantic 10), who had only seven turnovers and broke a six-game losing streak to George Washington.

    The Colonials (6-7, 0-1), who trailed 37-14 early in the second half, lost their fifth straight game.

    George Washington cut the lead to 56-48 on Noel Wilmore’s 3-pointer with 39.3 seconds left in the game.

    But Richmond’s Kevin Anderson, who scored 12 points, was intentionally fouled by Damian Hollis with 36.8 to go, and made two free throws for a 58-48 lead.

    Anderson hit two more free throws to make it 60-48 with 30 seconds to play.

    Wynton Witherspoon had 15 points for George Washington and Rob Diggs added 10 points and seven rebounds.

    FARMVILLE, VA — Billy Robinson Jr. scored a three-point play with 54 seconds left to lift Longwood past George Washington 80-78 on Saturday night.

    The Colonials (6-6) led 71-66 with four minutes in the game, until Longwood (7-8) went on an 8-2 run for the game’s 13th and final lead change.

    Longwood, which scored 18 points off of 13 George Washington turnovers, had four players to score in double figures. Dana Smith scored 16, Ryan Bogan added 14, Kevin Swecker notched 12 and Antwan Carter chipped in 10 for the Lancers.

    Rob Diggs scored 20 points for George Washington and Damian Hollis chipped in 19.

    The win was the first for the Lancers against an Atlantic 10 team since joining Division I two seasons ago.

    HONOLULU, HI — Tywain McKee led all scorers with 16 points Tuesday to lift Coppin State to a 57-53 win over George Washington in the seventh-place game of Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic.

    The Eagles (2-10) snapped a 10-game losing streak while the Colonials (6-5) dropped their third straight game in Hawaii.

    McKee also had eight rebounds and four assists. Sam Coleman added 14 points and Michael Harper had eight points and six boards for Coppin State. Damian Hollis and Noel Wilmore led George Washington with 14 points apiece and Travis King added 11.

    Coppin State outrebounded George Washington 38 to 27.

    The Eagles led by as many as 19 on Harper’s putback, which capped a 19-0 run with 1:14 left in the first half.

    Hollis hit a 3-pointer on the Colonials’ next possession to end a scoring drought of nearly nine minutes.

    HONOLULU, HI — Roderick Flemings had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead Hawaii to a 73-47 win over George Washington Monday in a consolation game of the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic.

    The Rainbow Warriors (7-4) play Pepperdine Tuesday in the fifth-place game. The Colonials (6-4) will meet Coppin State in the seventh-place game.

    George Washington was held to just 18 first-half points and was outscored 42-29 in the second half.

    Hawaii led by as many as 29 points. Petras Balocka had 14 points and Lasha Parghalava added 10 for the Rainbow Warriors.

    George Washington, which shot just 30 percent from the field, was led by Travis King?s 10 points. The Colonials attempted just 15 free throws to Hawaii?s 33.

    Flemings had 13 points and seven rebounds by halftime to send Hawaii into the break with a 31-18 lead.
