POS       Name             School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

PF    Chris Braswell   Hargrave Military Academy      6′8/235    Y                           91

Scouting Report: Big man with soft hands has a great presence in the low post, high basketball IQ, and passes the ball extremely well in transition.  Braswell has mulitple facets to his game he can play facing the basket comfortably at 15 feet or dominate his defender inside the paint with an array of back-to-the basket moves.  Freshman Impact: Starter (A10CollegeHoops All-Rookie Team)

POS       Name             School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

    F        K.J. Sherrill           West Rowan                        6′7/220    Y                          89

Scouting Report: One of the top seniors in the state of North Carolina.  Sherrill plays with great explosiveness and athleticism.  The high riser had a spectacular summer in which he showcased his physical prowess and deft outsiding shooting touch.  Sherrill is a winner and will have a great career at Charlotte.  Freshman Impact: 6th Man, will compete for starting position

PF    Matt Kavanaugh     Centerville, OH                   6′9/200    Y                               84

Scouting Report: One the state’s best prospects Kavanaugh gives big time effort when he steps on the floor.  The young man has good footwork, strong hands, and plays with big heart.  He is a very mobile scoring frontcourt player who rebounds the ball and shows the ability to take a dribble and go past his defender or go through him to the rim.  Defensively, he guards his man and gives solid weakside help, he is not a shot-blocker, so he should always strive to play proper position defense .  Freshman Impact: Starter

SF    Andre Marhold    North Mecklenburg                   6′6/215     N                                        85

Scouting Report:   Andre has extremely broad shoulders and is a 3/4 combo man. At this time, he is probably more a 4 than a 3. He is big time as a 3 man and is undersized as a 4 at the high-level. Andre is a great defender but needs to improve his skill level on the perimeter offensively. Really like his broad shoulders and his competitiveness on the offensive and defensive end. Andre has quick hops and is a run and jump player that crashes the glass hard. Andre is a Big Shots Alum playing with the United Celtics.  Freshman Impact:  6th man, will compete for starting position

POS       Name             School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

PF    Brian Freeman     The Potomac School, VA        6′8/220    Y                                  70

Scouting Report: Freeman is quite talented around the basket. He’s also an excellent defender with great shot blocking ability.  The 6-foot-8 big man led Potomac in rebounds, blocked shots, and field goal percentage as a junior averaging nearly a double-double.  Freshman Impact: Starter

POS       Name             School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

SG     Lance Brown      Patterson Catholic (NJ)     6′3/190     Y                          89

Scouting Report: Brown is a tough kid who does the “little things” to make him valuable.  He is a very athletic wing player with a limited skill set.  Brown plays the game with great intensity, works hard on both ends, and understands his role. Offensively, he is a capable medium range shooter who needs to extend his range and improve his ability to create his own shot. He is most effective in the open floor with great speed changing ends and the athleticism to finish the break above the rim. Overall, he is a high major athlete and a low major player.  Freshman Impact: 6th man, will compete for starting position

POS       Name             School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

    F      Chris Gaston       New Hampton, NH                6′7/205    Y                               82

Scouting Report: Chris is a true small forward in that he is able to get work done both inside and out.  He is a high-energy guy and has a real ability to score in bunches.  He has shown the ability to handle the ball in transition on fast breaks, by breaking down his man off the dribble in a half court setting and be on the receiving end of several lob dunks. Defensively he has the passion and enthusiasm to get after it aggressively, rebounding against much bigger opponents.  Freshman Impact: Starter (A10CollegeHoops All-Rookie Team)

POS       Name             School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

SF    Dwayne Smith       Bridgton Academy             6-5/210                                             86

Scouting Report:  Smith has very good athleticism and quickness, which he uses to get to the basket off the dribble. Once he gets to the paint, Smith has very good leaping ability, which allows him to finish at the rim. As he gets stronger, Smith will become an even better finisher at the rim with added strength, but he has good body control and adjusts well in the mid-air for lay-ins when faced by an interior defender. Smith can also finish with his right or left hand when he gets to the tin. He also has range that extends out to the 3-point line, but needs to become better off the dribble.  Freshman Impact:  Starter

POS       Name             School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

SF      David Pellom     Charis Prep                           6-8/200                                                86

Scouting Report:   David Pellom is a long, slender, highly athletic player with the ability to play both forward positions.  With his present physical build and strength level, Pellom prefers playing on the perimeter. He has good ball handling, passing and outside shooting abilities. He does need to add weight and muscle to his 190-pound frame. So a good strength development program is essential. Pellom needs to step up his intensity level and play hard all the time. He does not like physical contact and is more of a finesse player. He has much upside and with his athletic abilities could become a significant player at George Washington.  Freshman Impact:  6th man, will compete for starting position

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

      C     Daymon Warren      Worcester Academy             6′9/225                                                85

Scouting Report:   Warren has a very muscular build and gets by on his strength and athleticism, more than his skill level at this point of his career. Though he does not have the size of an ideal 4-man, Warren uses his strength and physicality to have a positive impact on games. He runs the floor very well and will start a break with a defensive rebound and finish it off, sometimes above the rim.  Warren hits the glass with good effort, especially on the offensive end.  Freshman Impact:  Starter

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

SG     Kinley Branch          Stone Mountain, GA            6′5/190                                                 86

Scouting Report:  Branch is an extremely athletic wing that excels in transition with above the rim finishes. He has a tremendous skill level that allows him to score with drives from the wing, slashes through traffic and range to the arc. He also has excellent potential to be a multiple position defender. Branch has been compared to former GW leading scorer J.R. Pinnock but has a better jumper shot. Branch will be a perfect fit for head coach Karl Hobbs up-tempo system.  Freshman Impact:  Starter

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

SG     Tim Johnson           Lee Academy, ME                  6′4/180                                                 82

Scouting Report:  Johnson has very explosive leaping ability and good length, which allows him to finish above the rim in transition and sometimes when he drives to the bucket. Johnson uses his quickness to drive past opposing defenders on his way to the rim. He also uses his leaping ability when he gets into the mid-range area of the floor by leaping high enough on his pull-up jumper to see over the out-stretched arms of perimeter defenders for shots. He will also hit the 3-point shot, though he needs to improve his consistency from 3-point territory. Johnson really excels as an on-ball defender, using his length and quick feet to hound opposing bal-handlers into frustration and fatigue, which ultimately leads to turnovers.  Freshman Impact:  Will compete for starting position

      C      Aaric Murray           Glen Mills  School                  6′11/265   Y                                     94

Scouting Report:  Murray’s a true center with a wide body who is physical and not afraid mix it up inside. His shooting range is to about 15 feet. He can put it on the floor one or two dribbles and gets to the rim. In the low post he favors the right-handed jump hook over his left shoulder. He’s a good rebounder especially on the offensive end where a tip dunk putback could be a result of a missed or forgotten box out. He’s a good shotblocker with excellent timing, and he works hard to defend the post by denying the entry pass.  Freshman Impact:  Starter (A10CollegeHoops All-Rookie Team)

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

PG     Nurideen Lindsey        Simon Gratz                       6′2/165     Y                                         87

Scouting Report:  Lindsey has very good leaping ability and athleticism, which makes him a very effective player in transition. He slashes to the basket in the half-court and when at the rim, Lindsey has the impressive ability to finish with either his left or his right hand, after adjusting in the air to avoid shot blockers. He also has good vision and finds open teammates after he drives to the rim. Lindsey plays good defense and gets into passing lanes for steals.  Freshman Impact: 6th man, will compete for starting position

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

SF     Freddie Riley    Hargrave Military Academy              6′5/175    Y                                     89

Scouting Report:  Riley has the uncanny ability to hit very difficult shots while under duress. However, this gives him a high level of confidence, but sometimes this confidence hinders him, as Riley believes he can make every shot, no matter the circumstances. This approach leads to attempting a number of very bad shots. Riley will often pass up open looks and dribble right into more challenging shots. He has good elevation on his jumper, which he will hit in the mid-range as well as from distance with hands in his face. He has a tendency to rely too heavily on the 3 at times. Riley ranks as a streaky shooter and would alleviate some of the streakiness if he took better shots. He also kicks his right leg out on jumper which throws off his alignment with the basket and causes his shoulders to not be square with the rim. He has a good first step and quickness, both of which make him a tough guy for defenses to keep in check.  Freshman Impact:  6th man, will compete for starting position

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

      F      Raphael Putney             Woodbridge                      6′8/175     Y                                     88

Scouting Report:  Raphael is walking upside. He is very long and skilled. He needs strength badly, but his talent is unmistakable. He is talented enough to play either forward spot but he is more of a skilled 4 at this point. Raphael is more of a slasher than a shooter right now. Once he improves his strength he could be a true impact player in the Atlantic 10 for UMass.  Freshman Impact:  Will compete for starting position

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

       F     Sampson Carter      Winchendon School                6′8/200    Y                                          82

Scouting Report:  Carter has very good athleticism and length and would benefit from learning to uses these tools to his advantage. He has range that extends out to the 3-point line, but he has a tendency to rely too much on the 3-point shot. When Carter does shoot the 3, he has a very low release point, almost shooting the ball from his chest. His shot mechanics make him a very streaky shooter.  Carter also has enough athleticism to become a good perimeter defender, though the increased strength will help him for the next level.  Freshman Impact:  Will compete for starting position

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

      G      Javon Farrell            Riverdale Baptist                  6′4/185     Y                                          84

Scouting Report:  Improving wing with good size and athleticism. Can catch and shoot out to 21ft and has enough size and strength to muscle inside and score around the basket. Javon is starting to become more comfortable out on the perimeter and is becoming harder and harder to defend. He also shows the ability to help rebound from the weak side effectively. As his wing skills continue to develop his stock will rise and he could get a high major to take a look.  Freshman Impact:  Will compete for starting position

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

F     Terrell Vinson           St. Frances Academy             6′7/205                                    94

Scouting Report:  Terrell is a skilled wing. He can play either forward position but is more of a natural wing forward. He is a solid shooter to 19 feet. He has a solid face up game but is more of a jump shooter than a slasher. He can score with putting the ball on the floor but tends to be more effective spotting up. He is a good rebounder for his position. He is an average defender and an average basketball athlete. Terrell is an ok passer with a decent basketball IQ but he is asked to finish plays not start them.  Vinson, very similar to NBA combo-forward Antoine Walker, can shoot the 3-point shots just enough to rank as a threat from the land of 3.  Freshman Impact:  Starter (A10CollegeHoops All-Rookie Team)

PF     Ryan Brooks         South Kent School (CT)          6′8/210     Y                                         84

Scouting Report:  Brooks can hit jumpers in the 15 feet range as a turn-and-face power forward, which also makes him a good fit for pick-and-pop or as the high post player in high-low offensive alignments. Brooks has the passing ability and vision to hit low post guys or shooters on the wing from his high post position. He can also get jumpers in the transition game as a trail post player as well as run the floor for the lay-up. Brooks hits the offensive board rather well and has a very quick second jump, making him an even more effective offensive rebounder.  Freshman Impact:  Will compete for starting position

      G    Darien Brothers         Benedictine HS                     6′3/195     Y                                        85

Scouting Report:  Brothers is a very good all around guard. He has excellent size, strength and is a good athlete. He attacks the rim in transition and will finish above the rim with a clear path with his sneaky athletic ability. He has a good basketball IQ and plays with urgency and emotion. Brothers can shoot the three off the catch. He has a nice release and follow through and his shot looked smooth. He has a nice mid range game as well. Brothers scores on dribble pull ups and floaters in the lane. He is strong enough to drive through contact and finish. He is an excellent passer and can help at the point as well. He does a great job of setting the offense and moving the ball.  Freshman Impact:  6th man, Will compete for starting position

POS       Name                      School, Hometown                HT/WT    LOI     A10CollegeHoops     Grade

SG     Greg Robbins          Lower Marion (PA)               6′5/200     Y                                            73

Scouting Report:  Outstandingly skilled wing who knows the game better than most. Has excellent court vision and can lead any team with assists from the off guard position. Greg handles well and also shows the ability to rebound much better than expected. He has good short term quickness and decent end to end speed. Can rise up and shoot off the dribble to the arc and catch and shoot out to 22ft. Still needs to improve the accuracy of his shot and needs to realize when he must become more aggressive and take over the scoring burden.  Freshman Impact:  Will compete for starting position

      F   Demitrius Conger     Convenant Christian              6′6/190     Y                                         84

Scouting Report:  Conger has electric athleticism and natural ability which he uses to make plays for his team offensively. He has very good quickness and puts the ball on the floor very well on his way to the hoop. In the paint, Conger uses his leaping ability to finish above the out-stretched arms of interior defenders. He also operates very adeptly in the mid-range area, utilizing the one-two dribble pull-up jumper as well as connecting on jumpers in the 17-18 feet area. Conger also uses his impressive length along with his leaping ability to pound the offensive boards, including finishing with tip-dunks.  Freshman Impact:  Starter
